Research and evaluation are important parts of the services provided by the SSCY Network and Centre. Research helps us learn new things and provide better care for our children and youth. Evaluations and quality improvement projects are done to make sure that we are doing the best things for our programs and services. Many SSCY Network partners have research, evaluation and quality improvement programs, and you can learn more about each one on their website.

All research and evaluation projects at SSCY Centre fit with SSCY’s mission and values. Clinicians, therapists and other staff at SSCY Centre do research and quality improvement projects. Researchers from universities and health centres in Manitoba, across Canada, and internationally also do research at SSCY Centre.

The goals of research and evaluation at SSCY Centre are to:

  • learn more about issues that are important to our children, youth and families
  • improve care received through SSCY Centre
  • increase community participation
  • improve quality of life for our children, youth and families

Participants in research and evaluation projects can be children, youth, caregivers and families at SSCY Centre. Every project is different, and it is up to families to decide if they want to join.

If you are interested in being contacted to participate in future research studies, please fill out the Consent to Contact form here.
