Provincial Review of Privacy Laws

The province is currently asking for input on PHIA and FIPPA (the Personal Health Information Act PHIA and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).  These two pieces of legislation are supposed to have regular reviews; the last review was in 2004.

The review is being done to make sure that Manitoba is getting the balance right between respecting personal health information and ensuring patient needs are being met.

If you have thoughts about PHIA and FIPPA please let the government know, so that they can be improved!
