Congratulations Steuart Reimer!
Steuart is the 2016/2017 Rising Star Distinction Recipient from the Pediatric Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Steuart has always had a passion for working with children and youth and had a number of opportunities to do so through the City of Winnipeg recreation programs.
He was also fortunate enough to work in the L.I.F.E program through the Rehabilitation Centre for Children in Winnipeg in his final year of his Bachelors of Kinesiology degree. This opportunity to work with children and youth living with both physical and intellectual impairments further motivated him to pursue a career in pediatric physical therapy.
During his Physical Therapy training, Steuart was able to complete two placements in pediatrics. One placement involved working with a youth football program while the other involved working with School Therapy Services to develop physical therapy interventions for children and youth living with a variety of neurological conditions. Steuart graduated from the University of Manitoba’s Masters of Physical Therapy Program in 2016. Since graduating, he has begun working with School Therapy Services as well as the Provincial Outreach Therapy for Children program and is now working with children from birth to the age of 21 living with a variety of neurological and orthopedic conditions. Steuart is both committed and motivated to continue pursuing opportunities that will allow him to help children and their families to reach their goals.
