FOR WHO? Intro to Boccia! Come out and play the game. All abilities welcome! WHAT? You are invited to an intro to Boccia, (/ˈbɒtʃə/ boch-ə) a precision ball sport, similar to bocce. The sport is contested at local, national and international levels, by athletes with physical disabilities. It was originally designed to be played by people with cerebral palsy but now includes athletes with other various abilities. In 1984, it became a Paralympic sport, and in 2008 was being practised in over fifty countries worldwide. WHEN and WHERE? Are you looking for ways to help your child with social skills and flexible thinking? Please join us for Build Your Parenting Toolkit! If your child has ASD or intellectual disability, and is between 7 and 18 years old, this learning series is for you. We will help you understand your child’s unique learning style and give you some practical tools to improve social interaction with your child. You can become your child’s best social partner and guide! Ten classes alternate between “parents only” learning sessions, and group “cooking club” sessions, giving you the chance to practice what you have learned.
